Banquet

6:30 pm – We kick off the Mission Celebration 2010 with a banquet at the Mount Calvary Church, 350 A.L. Philpott Hwy, Axton, VA 24054.  This church is located about 12 miles outside of Martinsville on U.S. Highway 58 heading toward Danville.

Remember to bring a non-perishable food item as a donation to the local food pantry.

Keynote Speaker – Rev. Denise Honeycutt, Director of Mission & Global Outreach and COSROW

Banquet – Catered by Cateen Catering with a menu consisting of:

  • Baked Italian Chicken
  • Sliced Roast Beef with gravy
  • Green Beans
  • Whipped Potatoes
  • Glazed Carrots
  • Tossed Salad
  • Rolls
  • Assorted Deserts
  • Coffee and Tea.

Tickets – $15 each plus a non-perishable food item is required to attend the Mission Celebration Banquet. Tickets for the banquet will be available at each Danville District United Methodist Church.

One of our goals for the weekend is to fill the food banks in the Danville District.

Youth Rally

6:30 pm – There will also be a Youth Rally starting at 6:00 pm held at The Rives Theater located at 215 Church Street, Martinsville, VA 24112.

8:30 amPotato Drop at the warehouse on Depot Street in Martinsville has been canceled.

9:00 am – Kids 1 Mile Fun Run begins

9:30 amBridge to Bridge 5 K Fun Run begins

11:00 am“Barefoot Mile” begins at Dan Daniels Park in Danville and at the Martinsville High School Track in Martinsville.

12:00 to 5:00 pmMission Expo held in the Community Room at the Community Market.

2:00 to 5:00 pm – Family fun activities including:

  • Centra Health Nurse to take your blood pressure and give you health material to take home

6:30 – Statement in concert at Carrington Pavilion. Statement is a Christian Bluegrass band from Floyd, Virginia.

7:15 – Henry Fork Service Center Children’s Choir takes the stage at Carrington Pavilion.

7:30MercyMe in concert at Carrington Pavilion. Ticket prices go up $5 on day of the event.

TBA – Concert ends the day’s activities. Remember to join us for worship services Sunday morning.

Mission Celebration concludes with church services across the district.

Mercy Me In Concert At The Carrington Pavilion in Danville, Virginia

Christian rock band Mercy MeThe popular Christian rock band Mercy Me will appear in concert at the Carrington Pavilion in Danville, Virginia on May 22nd at 7:30 pm as part of the Mission Celebration event sponsored by the United Methodist Church Danville District.

Tickets are on sale now. Click the banner at the top of this page or at the bottom to get your tickets now. Be sure to check out our very low group rates.

REMINDER: Ticket prices go up $5 on the day of the event. So, get your tickets early.

Mercy Me is set to arrive in Danville around noon. Special thanks to Chick-fil-a for providing lunch to the band and crew.

Then the band will volunteer to help with a local mission project for the afternoon before they take the stage at 7:30 pm.
