Barefoot Mile To Raise Shoes For Haiti Relief

The Barefoot Mile event starts at 11:00 am at the Martinsville High School in Martinsville and at Dan Daniels Park in Danville.

Remember to bring your shoe donations to help support “Share Our Shoes” mission based in Raleigh, N.C. The goal is to raise one million shoes for Haiti Relief. Any shoes will do. We’re especially interested in your used soccer cleats and tennis shoes but flip flops and boots are also appreciated. New and used are accepted.

Mission Expo starts at 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 22nd.

United Methodist Church mission groups are invited to set-up their booth or display in the Community Room at Community Market in Danville at “The Crossing of the Dan.”

The Community Room can hold up to 60 booths approximately 10 x 10 feet. Table and chairs will be provided for each booth. Some electrical hook-ups are available on a first come, first served basis.

Wes tells us of his most memorable experience on a trip to Guatemala where the students donated all of their shoes to the workers who had none. Wes goes on to explain that it’s stories like this that people will hear and share all during the Mission Celebration weekend event in Danville.
